Mission
The National High School Musical Theater Awards is a national celebration of outstanding student achievement in high school musical theater. Established by the Pittsburgh CLO and Nederlander Alliances, LLC, this program recognizes individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performance, as well as honors teachers and their schools’ commitment to excellence in performing arts education.
As industry leaders, the Pittsburgh CLO and The Nederlander Organization believe that the NHS Musical Theater Awards™ is an initiative that will stimulate new partnerships between theaters and the schools in their area, engage entire families in the activities of their children and contribute to the development of future audiences for live performing arts in communities across America.
The NHS Musical Theater Awards™ focus much needed attention on the meaningful work being done by today’s dedicated teachers and celebrate real kids with wide ranging talents on and off the stage regardless of their career aspirations.
