Broadway Star of the Future Awards
David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts
The Broadway Star of the Future Awards was created in October 2009 by The David A. Straz, Jr. Center of the Performing Arts. Awards are given to one male and one female high school student in recognition of their outstanding performance in a musical theater production. The selection process takes place at the annual Florida State Thespian Conference. First, schools with one-act mainstage productions are adjudicated and the top six students based on these results are chosen as nominees for the awards. Then, the finalists are judged based on DVD submissions of their performances and the top-scoring actor and actress are named the winners.
This year's Broadway Star of the Future Awards were announced during the closing ceremonies of the Florida State Thespian Conference on Saturday, April 10, 2010.
The following schools were nominated to participate in this year's Broadway Star of the Future Awards:

| Countryside High School |
| Cypress Lake High School |
